So today my family and I watched this Jason Statham movie called "Hummingbird". The movie felt so real, with the Chinese mafias, the homeless dudes, the charitable nun, the violence, and most of all, human trafficking.
It's always an issue that disturbs me the most...amongst child and elderly abuse. Human trafficking felt so inhuman to me. The thought that the 'inventories' were stuffed into cardboard boxes in a ship container, the same place that they will sleep and pee and whatnots for a few months. Life probably doesn't get better once they get out of the containers either--they might have to endure violent clients, drugs, or whatever. I know that most of them probably get desensitized after a while, and doing those jobs probably mean nothing to them after the first few. But to think that some of them might be children, or virgins. Innocent souls.
Some of them probably want to be in the industry. But some of them might not.
What about those Indonesian village girls that were promised that they'll be shopkeepers in a big city, only to find out the truth when they don't have any money to go back home?
Anyway, enough randomness.
I shall pray for them tonight, at least.
